Knee Wrap Guide: Proper Ace Bandage Application for Pain & Support
Wrapping your knee with an Ace bandage can help with pain, swelling, and other injuries. The bandage should be wrapped firmly but not too tightly to where it causes discomfort. Use a clean bandage and start with it rolled up; this will allow for easier application. The bandage should be removed once or twice a day to assure proper blood flow.
Instructions
Sit down and put your leg straight out in front of you, keeping it relaxed.
Place the loose end of the rolled bandage against the back of your leg, just below the knee.
Wrap the bandage around to the front of the leg, covering the bottom portion of the knee.
Wrap the bandage around the leg again, covering the loose end so it stays in place. Continue to wrap the knee, from bottom to top, pulling firmly so the bandage is tight enough to stay in place and support the knee but not too tight that it's hard to move or cuts off circulation.
Pin or tuck the second edge of the bandage so it stays in place.
