SSDI Benefits: Calculate Your Potential Monthly Payments
Social Security Disability Insurance, or SSDI, makes monthly payments to some people with disabilities who cannot maintain employment. To qualify, you must have worked and paid Social Security taxes before becoming too disabled to hold a job. The amount you can receive each month is based on how long you worked and how much you earned, as well as your age at the time at which you become disabled.
Instructions
Visit any Social Security Administration office to request a statement that shows how much you would receive in SSDI if you became disabled. Take photo identification, such as your driver's license, and your Social Security card with you.
Call the Social Security Administration toll free at 800-772-1213 to request a statement.
Request a statement online. The information will be mailed to you.
