The Journey of Food: From Mouth to Small Intestine
Food does not directly pass through the stomach. After being chewed and swallowed, food enters the esophagus, which leads to the stomach. In the stomach, food is mixed with gastric juices and churned to form a semi-liquid substance called chyme. The chyme then passes through the pyloric valve and into the small intestine, where it is further broken down and absorbed into the bloodstream.Digestive Health - Related Articles
