Situs Inversus: Understanding Reversed Organ Placement

The condition where the intestines are located on the left side of the body instead of the right side is called situs inversus. This is a rare condition in which the internal organs are mirrored from their normal positions. In most people, the heart is located on the left side of the body and the stomach is on the right side. However, in people with situs inversus, the heart is located on the right side of the body and the stomach is on the left side.
