The Ascensia Elite XL Diabetes Care System is an electronic, blood glucose testing device from Bayer Diabetes Care that tests using an electrochemical method-based meter and reagent system. This device allows users to self-monitor and self-manage blood glucose via in vitro diagnosis with 2 micro-liter samples. Testing occurs automatically, with no button-pushing, while memory access requires the use of one button. Testing ingredients will expire given time, so users must be mindful of expiration dates.

  Read the package inserts carefully before using the Ascensia Elite XL. Store between 59 degrees Fahrenheit and 86 degrees Fahrenheit and keep out of direct sunlight.

  Insert a test strip into the device and apply the blood sample. Wait 30 seconds.

  See the test results appear automatically on the Ascensia Elite XL's view screen. Push the memory button to refer to this device's 120-test memory for long-term diagnostic purposes.
