Freestyle Meter: A Comprehensive Guide to Accurate Blood Glucose Recording
The Freestyle Meter is a medical device that measures blood sugar levels, also called blood glucose, which may require monitoring due to various medical conditions including diabetes and hypoglycemia. The individual uses a small lancet to pierce a small test area of skin, such as a fingertip to produce a small amount of blood. A test strip is attached to the Freestyle Meter and is applied to the blood sample, which draws the blood into the device for blood glucose measurement. The Freestyle Meter also records blood sample results and stores the results in the device memory.
Instructions
Press the button on the left-hand side of the meter display face, which is marked "m," without a test strip inserted in the device. This will bring up an average of all the tests performed in the past seven days.
Press the "c" button, which is on the right side of the device face to view the 14-day average. Press "c" again to view the 30-day average.
Continue to press "c" to view up to the last 400 test results, including time and date. The first reading is the most recent test. Tests noted as "LO" indicate blood glucose levels under 20 mg/dL and those marked as "HI" indicate blood glucose over 500 mg/dL.
Insert a new test strip into the bottom of the machine and wait for a beep to perform a new test.
