Check the code on the test strip vial.
Insert a test strip. Hold the meter display window side up.
Confirm the code displayed on the meter matches the code on the test strip vial. If the code on the meter display does not match the code on the test strip vial, press the up or down arrow button until it does. The code number on the display will flash for three seconds, then remain constant for three seconds. The screen will now automatically advance to display a blood drop symbol. This signals the meter is ready to conduct a blood glucose test.
