How to Make a Cold Relief Bath Bomb
You've got a scratchy throat, stuffy head and runny nose, and you know a cold has its grip on you. Although a cold takes time to disappear, a cold relief bath bomb dropped in warm bath water can relax you and ease the discomfort.Things You'll Need
- 3/4 cup cornstarch
- 3/4 cup citric acid
- 1 1/2 cups baking soda
- 2 mixing bowls
- Wooden spoon
- 1/2 cup sea salt
- 3 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
- 1 1/4 tbsp. water
- 8 drops eucalyptus essential oil
- 8 drops spearmint essential oil
- 8 drops lavender essential oil
- 8 drops tea tree oil
- 1/2 tsp. borax
- Spray bottle with water (optional)
- Bath molds
- Airtight container
Instructions
Sift the cornstarch, citric acid and baking soda into a large mixing bowl. Stir in the sea salt, mix well, and set it aside.
Place the olive oil, water, essential oils and tea tree oils in a separate mixing bowl, and whisk them together thoroughly, being sure the oils are blended. Whisk in the borax.
Drip the olive oil mixture very slowly into the dry mixture, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon to prevent fizzing. If the mixture isn't the right consistency to stick together when you squeeze it, mist a bit of water into the mixture.
Press the mixture quickly into the bath molds, and allow the mixture to set up before removing the cold relief bath bombs from the molds.
Store the cold relief bath bombs in an airtight container.
