DIY Sinus Rinse: Relief for Congestion & Sinusitis | [Your Brand/Website Name]
Allergies, the common cold and other upper respiratory conditions can contribute to the presence of chronic or acute sinusitis. When you have irritated sinuses, it can lead to pain and discomfort. Bathing the nasal cavity with an appropriate rinse can relieve irritation and help you feel better. Although nasal irrigation rinses can be bought at the store, you can also make your own at home.Things You'll Need
- 1 cup distilled bottled water
- Microwave-safe bowl
- 1/2 teaspoon non-iodized salt
- 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 drops grapefruit seed extract
- Spoon
Instructions
Pour 1 cup of distilled bottled water into a clean microwave-safe bowl. Heat the water in the microwave on "medium" heat for five to 15 seconds until it's lukewarm. It can also be used at room temperature, if preferred.
Add 1/2 teaspoon non-iodized salt and 1/8 teaspoon baking soda to the water. Stir both ingredients into the distilled water until dissolved.
Place two drops of grapefruit seed extract into the mixture to add an infection-fighting element. Stir the solution to mix it well.
Irrigate the nasal cavity with your homemade nasal saline solution and a nasal syringe with a bulb on the end of it or a neti pot.
