Instructions
Flush your nasal cavities with with warm salt water. This helps by moistening nasal passages and also helps to remove germs and bacteria. A neti-pot or bulb syringe works well for this.
Steam your sinuses. This can either be done by taking a hot shower or by draping a towel over your head and breathing in the steam from a hot bowl of water. Adding a drop of two eucalyptus oil can also be helpful.
Apply warm moist compresses to your face, this will help to relieve some of the pain and pressure.
Use a humidifier. Warm dry air can make sinus problems worse so it's always a good idea to use a humidifier during the winter. For best results try to keep your humidity levels between 30-45%. Higher levels could cause problems with mold and mildew.
