How to Make Nasal Spray With Wintergreen Oil
An irritating symptom during allergy, cold or flu season is a stuffed up nose. According to the Mayo Clinic, inflammation of nasal tissue causes this clogged, stuffy feeling. You can use nasal sprays, which you can buy at drug stores, to relieve this inflammation. Or you can make nasal spray with wintergreen oil that will provide temporary relief at a fraction of the price.Things You'll Need
- 1 cup warm distilled water
- Bowl
- 1 drop wintergreen oil
- 1 tsp. sea salt
- 1 drop oregano oil
- Bulb syringe
Instructions
Pour 1 cup warm distilled water into a bowl. Avoid using tap water because it contains minerals that can irritate the sinuses even more. Cold water could cause pain or headaches.
Place 1 drop wintergreen oil, 1 tsp. sea salt and 1 drop oregano oil in the bowl. Stir until the sea salt is completely dissolved.
Stand over a sink. Fill a clean bulb syringe with the wintergreen spray.
Place the tip of the bulb syringe into one nostril. Gently squeeze the solution into the sinuses.
Repeat on the other nostril, if desired.
Use the wintergreen nasal spray two times a day for up to five days.
