Lipoproteins: Understanding Chylomicrons and Fat Transport in the Blood

Fats do not dissolve well in aqueous solutions thus the fats transported in blood are packed and released as a droplet within a protein coat. These packages of fats coated with proteins to facilitate this transport in blood are commonly known as chylomicrons.
