Deep Glass Cut First Aid: Steps to Take & When to Seek Medical Help
How to Treat a Deep Glass Cut
1. Stop the bleeding. Apply pressure to the wound with a clean cloth or bandage until the bleeding stops.
2. Clean the wound. Rinse the wound with soap and water. Remove any dirt or debris from the wound.
3. Get medical attention if the cut is deep or serious. You should also get medical attention if the wound doesn't start to heal after a few days.
Additional:
- Bandage and apply antibiotic ointment or antiseptic cream, but let cut breathe between bandage changes
- Watch out for signs of infection like increased swelling, pain, drainage, or rash that appears near the cut and seek treatment in any such case to rule out sepsis
