Motor Neurons: How They Transmit Signals from the Brain & Spinal Cord
Motor neuron.
Motor neuron carries impulses away from the central nervous system (CNS) to the muscles and glands. There are two types of motor neurons: upper motor neurons and lower motor neurons. Upper motor neurons originate in the brain and travel down the spinal cord to connect with lower motor neurons. Lower motor neurons then carry the impulses from the spinal cord to the muscles and glands.
