Condyles: Understanding Bone Projections and Joint Articulation
The knuckle-like process at the end of a bone is called a condyle. A condyle is a rounded bony projection that forms an articulation with another bone. The condyles are usually located at the ends of long bones, such as the femur (thigh bone) or humerus (upper arm bone). The condyles are covered with a layer of cartilage that helps to reduce friction and wear and tear on the joint.Bones, Joints & Muscles - Related Articles
