The leg consists of three main bones:
1. Femur (thigh bone):
- Longest and strongest bone in the body
- Connects the hip joint to the knee joint
2. Tibia (shin bone):
- Larger of the two bones in the lower leg
- Connects the knee joint to the ankle joint
- Bears most of the body's weight
3. Fibula:
- Smaller of the two bones in the lower leg
- Lies laterally to the tibia
- Provides attachment points for muscles and ligaments
- Helps stabilize the ankle joint
