- Red bone marrow produces red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets.
- White bone marrow is found in the long bones of the body and is composed of a mixture of fat cells, red blood cells, and white blood cells.
- Brown bone marrow is found in the sternum, vertebrae, and pelvic bones and is responsible for producing heat to help regulate body temperature.
- Black bone marrow is found in the bones of the skull and is composed of a mixture of red and brown bone marrow.
