Triceps Muscles: Location, Anatomy & Function
Triceps muscles are located on the back of the arm. They are composed of three heads: the long head, the lateral head, and the medial head. The long head originates from the scapula, while the lateral and medial heads originate from the humerus. The triceps muscles insert into the olecranon process of the ulna.
The triceps muscles are responsible for extending the arm at the elbow joint. They are also involved in some shoulder movements, such as abduction and extension.
