What are the benefit of having nerve supply diaphragm which is located in thoracolumbar area spinal cord arise from cervical nerves?

The diaphragm is not innervated by cervical nerves.

The phrenic nerve, which arises from the cervical roots C3, C4, and C5 of the spinal cord, provides the nerve supply to the diaphragm.
