The muscular passageway from uterus to outside body is the vagina. The vagina is a fibromuscular tube that connects the uterus to the external genitalia. It is lined with mucous membrane and is capable of considerable distension. The vagina serves as the birth canal during childbirth and also functions in sexual intercourse.
