Sling and Swath Application After Arm Fracture Splinting: Important Considerations
Do Not Straighten the Limb
Before applying a sling and swath after immobilizing an arm in an ulnar/radial splint, be aware that the limb should not be straightened. Splint the limb in the position you found it unless straightening is required to correct an obvious deformity or to apply the splint.
