A Hairline hip fracture is also called an Impacted Femoral Neck Fracture. Femoral neck fractures refer to breaks that happen in the neck of the thigh bone (femur).

It involves a tiny break or hairline fracture in the head and neck of the femur close to the hip joint ball. The displacement of bone fragments is insignificant; hence the term impacted fracture.
