Raccoon Eyes: Understanding Basilar Skull Fracture Signs
Periorbital ecchymosis, commonly known as "raccoon eyes", is a sign of a basilar skull fracture. It is caused by blood leaking from a damaged middle cranial fossa into the surrounding soft tissues.
