How to Store Heparin
Heparin is part of a group of pharmaceutical medications called anticoagulants that prevent blood clots from forming. Heparin is used in hospitals all around the world. It is given by injection; there are no oral forms of heparin. Store heparin properly to help keep it potent and uncontaminated.
Instructions
Keep heparin in the container it came in, tightly sealed. Never mix it with other medications.
Store heparin at room temperature (between 68-77 degrees Fahrenheit) and away from excess moisture and heat. Never freeze heparin.
Keep heparin where children and pets cannot reach it. You can store heparin and other medications in a locked container or storage box.
Always check the expiration date of the heparin bottle, and throw it away if it is no longer needed or outdated.
