Blood Donation and Meloxicam: What You Need to Know
Meloxicam is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that is used to relieve pain, inflammation, and fever. It can also be used to treat arthritis, gout, and menstrual pain. Meloxicam can interfere with the body's ability to clot blood, so it is not recommended to donate blood while taking this medication. The American Red Cross recommends waiting at least 48 hours after stopping meloxicam before donating blood.
