The significance of AV delay lies in its role within the electrical conduction system of the heart, which plays a vital part in coordinating the heart's contractions. Atrioventricular (AV) delay refers to the time interval between the electrical activation of the atria and the activation of the ventricles during a normal cardiac cycle.
