DIY Microwave Heating Pad: Quick & Easy Pain Relief
Working in mental health and the health care industry in general you pick up some cool ideas. Making a microwaveable heating pad in under 5 minutes is necessary when someone is in serious pain from a back ache or injury. This is a lot cheaper then spending some serious money for a "professional" heating bad at say Walmart or Rite Aid. Remember these steps and the next time your back or muscles hurt, you can make your own microwaveable heating pad.Things You'll Need
- large size Ziploc bag
- hand towel or t shirt
Instructions
Depending on what you use (Hand Towel or T-shirt), wet it fully under the faucet. You can use either cold or hot water. Either will be fine. Once wet, ring out until the towel/t-shirt is just damp.
Fold towel/t-shirt so that it will fit into the ziploc. Once folded, place into the ziploc. Do not seal the ziploc fully. Leave it 1-2 inches unsealed.
Microwave for 90 seconds. The microwaveable heating pad will be hot after the 90 seconds is up so be careful when you take it out of the microwave.
