C3-4 Uncovertebral Spurring & C4 Nerve Impingement: Causes, Symptoms & Treatment
Uncovertebral spurring is a condition in which a bony growth develops on the back of a vertebra, near the joint where the vertebrae meet. This growth can put pressure on the spinal cord or nerves, causing pain, numbness, and weakness in the arms and legs.
At C3-4, uncovertebral spurring can result in chronic exiting left C4 impingement. This means that the bony growth is putting pressure on the left C4 nerve root as it exits the spinal cord. This can cause pain, numbness, and weakness in the left shoulder, arm, and hand.
Treatment for uncovertebral spurring may include medication to relieve pain and inflammation, physical therapy to improve range of motion and flexibility, and surgery to remove the bony growth.
