Asperger's Syndrome: Online Self-Assessment & Information
Asperger's Syndrome is a developmental disorder on the high functioning end of the Autistic Spectrum. In recent years, many adults have been diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome. Asperger's is typically diagnosed by a psychiatric professional. Before you go to see a specialist you may want to do a preliminary Asperger Quotient test online.
Instructions
Log onto a website that offers the Asperger Quotient test. One version of the test is available through the Okcupid website. It is also offered on other websites such as MSNBC. See Resources for links.
Answer each of the questions. The test consists of fifty statements. Click on "Definitely Agree," "Slightly Agree," "Slightly Disagree" or "Definitely Disagree" for each question.
Get your results. A score of 32 or above indicates that you may have Asperger's Syndrome. A score of 18 is about average for the general population.
Save or print out your results to show to your health professional. The test results may help your doctor by providing her with a starting place for discussing your symptoms.
