Patients who suffer from sleep apnea use CPAP masks and machines to treat symptoms such as chronic snoring and shallow breathing. The continuous stream of compressed air distributed through the face mask opens the airway to prevent arousal from sleep due to obstructive breathing.Things You'll Need
- 2 wash basins
- Enzyme-based cleaner
- Soft bristled brush
- Dish liquid
- Water
Instructions
Don a pair of gloves. In a wash basin, add 1 oz. of enzyme cleaning solution to 1 gallon of tap water. Set aside.
Detach the headgear, tubing and other removable parts from the face mask. Place each piece into the wash basin.
Soak the face mask and other parts for 5 minutes. Add 1 tsp. of dish liquid to 1 gallon of cool water to the second wash basin.
Place the face mask and tubing into the second wash basin. Brush each piece vigorously. Rinse well and then allow to air dry.
