COVID-19 vs. Allergies: Understanding Overlapping Symptoms
It is difficult to self-diagnose whether symptoms are due to COVID-19 or allergies. Symptoms can overlap, including cough, sore throat, runny nose, sneezing, and congestion. For COVID-19, you may also experience fever or chills, muscle aches, fatigue, shortness of breath, loss of taste or smell, headache, nausea or vomiting, or diarrhea.
Allergies are generally seasonal, and symptoms tend to be mild and do not include flu-like symptoms such as fever, body aches, or fatigue. If you have concerns, it is best to consult a healthcare professional for an evaluation and testing to determine the cause of your symptoms.
