Understanding Heterogeneous Thyroid Signal on MRI: Causes & Implications
When a thyroid gland demonstrates a heterogeneous signal on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), it means that different areas of the gland have different signal intensities. This can be caused by a variety of factors, including:
- Normal variations in the structure of the thyroid gland
