Cleopatra's Nose: Separating Fact from Fiction - A Historical Analysis
The ancient Greek biographer Plutarch described Cleopatra as having an attractive voice and charming demeanor but noted that her beauty, often cited by contemporaries, was in the grace. Plutarch described her as "of noble lineage, and possessed of surpassing wealth..." but made no particular mention of the size or shape of her nose.
Coins minted at the height of her powers also bore Cleopatra's likeness - and they do not depict a woman with a distinctively prominent, or otherwise nonstandard nose size of shape.
