There are over 70 subtypes of non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL). The most common types of NHL include:
- Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL): This is the most common type of NHL, accounting for about 30% of all cases. DLBCL is a fast-growing lymphoma that can occur in any part of the body.
- Follicular lymphoma (FL): This is the second most common type of NHL, accounting for about 20% of all cases. FL is a slow-growing lymphoma that typically occurs in the lymph nodes.
- Marginal zone lymphoma (MZL): This type of NHL accounts for about 10% of all cases. MZL is a slow-growing lymphoma that typically occurs in the spleen, stomach, or intestines.
- Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL): This type of NHL accounts for about 5% of all cases. MCL is a fast-growing lymphoma that typically occurs in the lymph nodes.
- Burkitt lymphoma: This type of NHL accounts for about 1% of all cases. Burkitt lymphoma is a fast-growing lymphoma that typically occurs in the jaw, abdomen, or central nervous system.
