Fibroid scarring in the lung is dangerous?
Pulmonary fibrosis is a chronic and progressive disease that causes scarring of the lung tissue. The scarring makes it difficult for the lungs to function properly, which can lead to shortness of breath, coughing, and fatigue. In severe cases, pulmonary fibrosis can be fatal.
There are many different causes of pulmonary fibrosis, including exposure to certain toxins, autoimmune diseases, and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). IPF is a type of pulmonary fibrosis that has no known cause.
Treatment for pulmonary fibrosis depends on the cause of the disease. There is no cure for IPF, but treatment can help to slow the progression of the disease and improve symptoms.
