Bronchial Cells: Types and Functions - A Comprehensive Guide
The bronchi are lined with pseudostratified ciliated columnar epithelium. This type of epithelium is composed of several layers of cells, with the ciliated cells being the most superficial layer. The ciliated cells have small hairs, called cilia, which beat in a coordinated fashion to move mucus and foreign particles up the airways. Other cells found in the bronchi include goblet cells, which produce mucus, and basal cells, which are stem cells that can differentiate into other types of cells.Lung Cancer - Related Articles
