The lungs are located in the chest cavity, on either side of the heart. The right lung is slightly larger than the left lung and has three lobes, while the left lung has two lobes. The lungs are made up of millions of tiny air sacs called alveoli, which are where gas exchange takes place between the air we breathe and the blood in our capillaries.
