Colon Diverticula: Understanding Diverticulosis and Diverticulitis
The presence of multiple diverticula in the colon is referred to as diverticulosis. Diverticula are small, bulging sacs that can form in the lining of the colon. They are often asymptomatic, but in some cases, they can cause symptoms such as abdominal pain, constipation or diarrhoea, and bloating. Diverticulitis occurs when one or more of the diverticula become inflamed or infected, leading to more severe symptoms. Diverticular disease is a general term used to describe both diverticulosis and diverticulitis.Colon Cancer - Related Articles
