DIY Chemotherapy Turban: A Simple & Compassionate Sewing Project
Chemotherapy is a treatment that leaves many patients with hair loss. A turban is a wonderful gift to make for someone who is going through chemo. Chemotherapy turbans are also a great project for your sewing group to work on for charities. Either way, you can brighten someone's day just by making this simple head covering.Things You'll Need
- 1 yard of fabric
- Measuring tape
- Scissors
- Sewing machine
- Brooch (optional)
Instructions
Purchase 1 yard of fabric for each chemotherapy turban you want to make. If you are sewing this for someone you know, choose a fabric that shows his or her personality. If you are making your turbans for a charity project, choose fun patterns with bright colors. Choose 100 percent cotton fabrics for frequent washing.
Cut the fabric into a 37-inch square.
Sew a hem all the way around the square.
Wrap the turban around you or your friend's head by folding the turban into a triangle. Center the bottom end of the triangle at the nape of the neck. Bring the other two ends around the front of the head and tie in place. Add a brooch to make it more pretty.
