Texas Cancer Research Grants: $3 Billion for Innovation
The Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas will award $3 billion over a 10-year period with the intent of fostering innovative cancer research and decreasing the number of cancer patients in Texas.-
Commercialization

The Commercialization Awards grant was created to develop innovative products, services and infrastructure with a focus on patient care. This is accomplished by supporting the creation of start-up companies that will focus on developing new patient care technology and products, as well as recruiting companies with proven management teams in this area to relocate to Texas. Awards have no maximum amount. Three years is the maximum time frame for this award, but renewal requests are allowed.
Research

The Research Awards encourage collaboration between cancer research disciplines to stimulate growth in the field. They involve recruiting new and established faculty members who are dedicated to cancer research.
The maximum time frame for this award is five years, but applications for renewal are allowed. No limit has been set on the amount that may be requested.
Prevention

The Prevention grant is focused on programs and education that will help reduce the incidence of cancer in the United States. In particular it supports organizations that offer innovative strategies in areas of great need.
