Doodle's Fear of the Forest in Charlotte Brontë's *Jane Eyre*

In "Scarlet", Doodle is afraid of the forest. He believes that there are dangerous creatures lurking within its depths, such as the "Old One" and the "Thing with Yellow Eyes". Doodle's fear of the forest is so strong that it prevents him from exploring it and experiencing all that it has to offer.
