Filaria Disease: Mosquito Vectors and Symptoms
Filaria is caused by the bite of an infected female mosquito of the genus Culex, Wuchereria bancrofti, or Brugia malayi. The mosquito becomes infected when it feeds on an infected person, and then transmits the larvae to another person when it bites them. The larvae mature into adult worms in the person's body, where they can cause a range of symptoms, including swelling of the limbs, genitalia, and scrotum, as well as fever, chills, and fatigue.Mosquito Bites - Related Articles
