Effective Ways to Treat & Reduce Bug Bite Marks - Expert Advice
They itch, they burn, and sometimes they kill. Depending on an individual's reaction to insect bites, they can mean anything from a nuisance to a life-threatening event. If you have a conspicuous insect bite mark and would like to hide the unsightly welt, there are several treatments that will reduce swelling and help hide the bite marks.Things You'll Need
- Aspirin
- Antihistamine
- Aloe vera
- Meat tenderizer
Instructions
Break an aspirin in half, dampen it and rub it on the bite mark. This will help reduce the swelling and itching.
Take an antihistamine. Just as it abates your allergic reaction to pollen, it will work against your allergic reaction to the bite and reduce the swelling.
Apply aloe vera to the bite mark. You can get it as a gel, or use the sap from a piece broken off an actual plant. Aloe vera's anti-inflammatory properties will help reduce swelling and redness.
Rub a meat tenderizer into the bite mark. Use a flavorless tenderizer unless you want to smell like seasoning. The ingredients in the tenderizer will help make the mark go away.
