How is diphtheria spread?
- Contact with respiratory droplets (such as produced when a person coughs or sneezes) from an infected person's respiratory tract or nose
- Sharing utensils/glasses with an infected person.
- In rare cases, the infection can be skin acquired, through an open wound or skin lesion coming into contact with infected material.
