Understanding Association Fiber Tracts in the Cerebral Hemispheres
The fiber tract that provides for communication between different parts of the same cerebral hemisphere is called the association fiber tract.
There are three types of association fiber tracts:
* Arcuate fibers: connect adjacent gyri within a lobe
* U-fibers: connect gyri within a lobe but do not form an arch-like pattern
* Fasiculus fibers: connect lobes of the cerebral hemispheres
