Saltwater Flush: Benefits, How-To & Safety
The purpose of a saltwater flush, when detoxifying or fasting, is to quickly and efficiently eliminate built-up waste from your bowels by literally "flushing" them. The idea is that the combination of warm water and sea salt creates a saline solution mimicking the consistency off your own blood and therefore will not be absorbed. The flush can replace an enema and is thought to cleanse toxic buildup within the digestive system resulting in clearer skin, weight-loss and overall better health. This technique is usually used in conjunction with the Master Cleanse or Lemonade Cleanse fast, but may be used on its own.Things You'll Need
- 1 qt. filtered water
- 2 tbsp. of sea salt
- Saucepan or tea kettle
Instructions
Heat 1 qt. of filtered water in a pan or tea kettle until warm.
Add 2 tbsp. of sea salt to the water.
Test the water to make sure that it is warm but not hot enough to burn you.
Drink the water mixture as quickly as possible until you have finished all of it.
