Homeopathy Explained: Understanding the Core Principles

The core principle of homeopathy is “like cures like” (law of similars): a substance causing symptoms in a healthy person can, in minute doses, cure similar symptoms in a sick person.

Remedies are prepared from natural substances (plants, minerals, animal products) believed to stimulate the body’s healing response. They undergo serial dilution and vigorous shaking (succussion), thought to enhance therapeutic properties.

According to homeopathic theory, taking a remedy triggers a healing response addressing underlying imbalances via stimulation of the body’s “vital force” or energy.

Note: Homeopathy is considered alternative/complementary medicine. Its effectiveness is debated; most scientific evidence does not support its use for treating health conditions, though some studies report positive effects.
