Chamomile: Properties, Uses & Traditional Herbal Medicine
Chamomile: Chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla) is a daisy-like plant that has been used in traditional medicine for centuries. It is native to Europe and Asia but has been naturalized in other parts of the world. Chamomile flowers are used to make herbal tea, tinctures, and other herbal preparations.

To make chamomile tea, steep 1-2 teaspoons of dried chamomile flowers in hot water for 5-10 minutes. Strain the tea and enjoy it hot or cold. Chamomile tea can be drunk on its own or combined with other herbs, such as peppermint or lemon balm.
Chamomile is generally safe to use, but it may cause side effects in some people, such as nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. It is important to talk to your doctor before using chamomile if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have any medical conditions.
