Yohimbe Extract: A Guide to Alcohol Extraction & Uses
Yohimbe bark is used traditionally as an aphrodisiac for both men and women. Yohimbe is also used by herbalists to treat depression.Most of the time, Yohimbe is taken either as tea, or in a tablet or capsule. Although Yohimbe extracts may not contain as much active ingredient as the other preparations, alcohol extracts have the advantage of a a much longer shelf life.
Things You'll Need
- Yohimbe bark
- Glass jar with tight-fitting lid
- Vodka
Instructions
Place Yohimbe Bark in glass jar. Ideally, the bark should fill the jar 1/2 to 3/4 full.
Pour vodka over Yohimbe bark. Fill jar so bark is covered by at least 2 inches of vodka.
Place the lid on the jar and shake well. Label the bottle and store in a dark, warm place.
Shake the mixture every day for 2 weeks.
At the end of the second week, strain the mixture. Re-bottle the liquid, and dispose of the bark. Your Yohimbe extract is now ready to use.
