DIY He Shou Wu Tincture: A Step-by-Step Guide
He Shou Wu is an herb used in oriental medicine. Though outrageous claims of allowing patients to live well over the age of 100 are dubious, the herb can be useful to help alleviate some of the effects of aging, such as joint and back pain or digestive complaints. It is best taken orally as a tincture.Things You'll Need
- 2 oz powdered he shou wu root
- 18 oz water
- 6 oz ethyl alcohol
- Glass bottle with a sealable lid, approx 24 fluid ounces (3 cups)
Instructions
Measure your ingredients into clean containers. Clean the glass jar thoroughly.
Pour the alcohol and six ounces of water into the jar.
Add the he shou wu powder.
Seal the jar and shake vigorously.
Open the jar and add the remaining alcohol and water.
Seal the jar and shake thoroughly once more.
Store in a cool, dry place.
